Integrating 2 Modules Enables 4-Quadrant Operation

Vincotech announced during PCIM 2016 the launch of a unique three-level solution for high-voltage solar and energy storage system (ESS) applications. The cost-efficient new flowNPC 1 split meets the demands of sophisticated devices by combining two fast modules to improve thermal performance and enable four-quadrant operation.

Equipped with high-speed IGBTs and two fast, low-inductive flow 1 modules rated for 2400V / 150A, the flowNPC 1 split solution can handle high dc-link voltages, achieve high efficiency levels, and enable full reactive power capability. IGBT dies are paralleled in the same DCB to reduced internal inductance and improve current sharing.

This three-level solution also drives down overall system costs. The new flowNPC 1 modules come in 12mm flow 1 housings. Samples are currently available.
