IFR Debuts Kikusui's PAM Series DC Power Supplies

March 25, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

IFR Systems Inc. (Wichita, KS) announced a complete new line of variable-switching regulated dc power supplies. The Kikusui PAM Series has eight models in 2kW and 4kW versions that consist of large-capacity, variable-switching dc power supplies suitable for use in battery, dc/dc converter, automobile electrical components and motor-operated tool applications.

The PAM Series offers users a wide range of large-capacity power devices to limit temperature rise, minimize temperature dependence and improve reliability. The series features external analog-control functions, analog read-back functions, a three-point memory function that allows users to pre-store output settings (voltage and current), a lock-out feature for manufacturing use, master-slave parallel operation, and voltage ranges for margin testing. The PAM Series provides a rated output voltage range of 40V, 80V, 160V and 320V, allowing the series to handle tests at 150 percent of 24V (36V), or at 150 percent of 48V (72V) with capacity to spare.

The Kikusui PAM Series 2kW models are priced from $4,284 to $5,141. The PAM Series 4kW models are priced from $7,236 to $7,616. All power supplies carry a five-year warranty and are available from IFR in two to six weeks ARO.
