ICE Components Develops Economical Solution for High Current Power Inductor Needs

New Products May 13, 2012 by Jeff Shepard

ICE Components, Inc. introduced the I03 series of high current power inductors. ICE’s I03 series features a small footprint and high power density, all an economical package that is suitable for dc-dc converters, VRMs and other point-of-load applications.

The key features of the I03 series include:

-- High current rating to 50A

-- Inductance range from 1.4uH to 5.6uH

-- Lower DCR’s than similar Toroid Designs

-- DCR’s as low as 0.98mΩ

-- Small size: 13.8 x 13.5 x 13.5mm)

"The I03 series is a great solution for low cost point-of-load or VRM applications. The great heat dissipation and high temperature rating of the I03 really improves the current density and overall circuit size for our customers." says Robin Benas, Engineering Manager for ICE Components. "The shielded E-core design is important for EMI (electromagnetic interference) performance and helps speed the time to market."

Parts in the I03 series are available with prices averaging $0.56. Individual parts pricing may vary due to volume, configuration and shipping destination.
