ICC Convection Cooled 350W Open Frame Power Supply Meets Medical & Industrial Safety Standards

July 26, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

International Components Corp. (ICC) launched a new series of ac-dc open-frame, single-output power supplies. The new 350W series, designed for both industrial (FXA350) and medical applications (MSMP250), is said to deliver an industry-leading converter efficiency of up to 88%. The power supply is maximized for performance and features 5V standby output current and adjustable fan output current. The 350W series is the latest addition to the company’s portfolio of high-efficiency, high-reliability power supplies.

Maintaining the company’s commitment to premium design, both the FXA350 and MSMP250 series features 350W of continuous output power with just 5 CFM of airflow. This high-reliability series offers active power factor correction of .98 to minimize input harmonic current distortion and ensure compliance with the international EN61000-3-2 standard. The 350W series also delivers a long hold-up time for reliable operation at more than 22ms at any input voltage. No minimum load is required for the unit to start up and maintain stated specifications.

The power supplies are comprehensively protected against over-voltage, over-temperature, and short circuit conditions and demonstrated mean time between failure exceeds 200,000 hours. The units operate at full power from 0 to + 50°C and up to + 70°C with derating. Both the FXA350 and MSMP250 series feature a universal input range of 85 to 264Vac enabling use in any part of the world.

The FXA350 and the MSMP250 series are priced starting at $119.00 in OEM quantities of 1,000 and models are available to ship immediately. The 350W series is conveniently available in five single-output voltages ranging from 12-48Vdc. ICC can also design a custom solution to meet specific OEM requirements.
