February 07, 2012 by Jeff Shepard

UNIPOWER LLC announces the SGH 3000 Series of 650W, 12V Front-Ends designed to satisfy the latest networking and datacom applications that demand smaller size, lower energy consumption and a significantly reduced cost of ownership. The SGH Series continues UNIPOWER’s leadership in high efficiency, high density, hot swap power sources with a power density of 17.5W/in³ and efficiency levels to 92%.

Featuring a universal ac input (90 to 264Vac) with minimum power factor greater than 0.95, they provide 12Vdc and a 5V standby outputs from a 1U high package. N+N redundant operation is achieved with active load sharing and ORing protection circuitry. A Class B EMI filter is also standard.

In addition, the new Front-Ends incorporate both analog and PMBus communication for status control of each power module as well as LED indicators and audible alarms to communicate status or fault conditions.

Measuring 11.81 x 1.99 x 1.57in (300 x 50.5 x 40mm), UNIPOWER’s SGH3000 Series Front-Ends feature an operating temperature range of 0 to +50°C and variable speed cooling fans.
