HEP Group Unveils New DC-DC Converter

New Products Sep 14, 2011 by Jeff Shepard

HEP Group has launched a series of newly developed dc-dc converters for LED lighting fixture. There are 12 models of boost converter available in 350 or 700mA outputs, and 3 models of buck converter available in 350mA output.

According to the company, any choice of these dc-dc converters (30 x 30 x 11mm, 106.2 x 32.9 x 21.5mm, 48.9 x 42 x 20mm) is well suited for extra compact size LED lighting applications, including options of specified customization for constant-voltage or constant-current. They are also well suitable for commercial lighting. The stand-alone mount-on design outside luminaries prevents the unit from the damage of high temperatures generated by LED bulbs. Lifetime is up to 50,000 hours.

According to the company, the primary beneficial advantage is that the device can lower overall fixture cost. Each converter independently differentiates the desired direct current and is capable of driving-N-dim several LED luminaries synchronously just via a single external power supply and an extra dimmer. Coupling with a compact dc-dc converter creates a fixture application that the company says is more versatile and attractive. Each model is said to deliver superior dimming effect throughout the integration of PWM technology, and is compliance with SELV. Extra low-voltage output offers full safety on installation and operation.
