GAPTEC Introduces DC-DC Converter with High Power Density up to 6 Watts

GAPTEC Electronic introduced the new 6S8W series, described by the company as a highly innovative dc-dc converter with up to 6 watts of power in an ultra-compact SIP8 housing for applications which require literally millimeter-space-saving. The series features a wide 2:1 input voltage range and provides permanent short circuit protection. Another feature of this new series is an already included on / off switching pin. The 6S8W series offers an optimal operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C (+60°C with derating).

According to the company, the devices have an exceptionally absolute high output voltage accuracy with an excellent efficiency of up to 86%. In addition, the series offers 3kVdc isolation (1.5 kVac/60Hz) and the choice between single or dual outputs. The 6S8W series are encapsulated SIP8 converters, which are constructed in SMD design and are ideal for the use in industrial automation and communications technology.
