Fairchild Semiconductor Offers Eight SuperFET MOSFETs
Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. (South Portland, ME) offered eight new high-voltage SuperFET™ MOSFETs designed for high-voltage, fast-switching applications requiring high efficiency, such as active power-factor correction, lighting, and ac-dc power supply systems.
The SuperFET technology minimizes conduction losses and increases switching performance by lowering RDS(ON) and gate charge. The technology is designed to withstand both high-speed voltage and current switching transients, allowing the devices to operate reliably at higher frequencies. The new SuperFET family also has repetitive avalanche energy ratings that are an order of magnitude higher than alternative solutions. The features, combined with a maximum gate-to-source voltage rated at ±30 V, allow SuperFETs to provide ruggedness that makes them reliable in high-voltage applications.
The SuperFETs come in a variety of packages, including TO-220, TO-220F, TO-263 (D2-PAK), TO-247 and TO-3P. The products are lead-free and meet or exceed the requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020B, and are compliant with European Union requirements now in effect. Prices range from $1.54 to $5.02 for 1,000-piece quantities. Available now, delivery is 12 weeks ARO.
