Fairchild Semiconductor Debuts FGS15N40L IGBT

October 02, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Fairchild Semiconductor International (South Portland, ME) introduced the FGS15N40L, a powerful 400V trench IGBT housed in an ultra-compact package.

With a die size small enough to fit into an 8-SOP package, the FGS15N40L IGBT’s trench-gate structure provides conductance and switching performance superior to planar gate structure designs, as well as wider noise immunity. The FGS15N40L’s 130A peak current handling capability, combined with 60 percent board-space savings over comparable DPAK packaging, can be used in smaller, next-generation portable digital and compact camera designs.

The FGS15N40L IGBT features high input impedance, high peak current capability (130A) and a 4V gate drive that offers easy logic-level drive design.

Pricing is $0.80 for 5,000-piece quantities. Samples and production quantities are available now with delivery in 12 weeks.
