Fairchild Semiconductor International (South Portland, ME) announced its new 600V FKPF12N60 and the 800V FKPF12N80 12A standard triacs for optimizing performance in consumer appliances. Designed with an advanced planar silicon structure, the triacs provide high reliability. High efficiency is achieved with a low on-state loss of 1.5V maximum. Target applications include washing machines, vacuum cleaners, dimmers, remote switches and ac motor control applications.
Ruggedness features are built in to offer reliable performance in product designs, including high di/dt (50A/µs) to prevent device failure, high (dv/dt)c (10V/µs) and (dv/dt)s (300V/µs) to prevent undesired turn-on by the transient voltage, and high ITSM (120A) to prevent device failure from current surges. Both the FKPF12N60 and the FKPF12N80 are housed in isolated TO-220F packages.
The 600V FKPF12N60 is priced at $0.60 for 1,000 pieces and the 800V FKPF12N80 is priced at $0.65 for 1,000 pieces. Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times of 16 weeks or more for larger quantity orders.
