Ericsson Debuts PKL 4118A PIT DC/DC Power Module

Ericsson Microelectronics Inc. (Stockholm, Sweden) announced its latest high-power dc/dc power modules that further extend the PKL 4000 family with models designed for the wireless telecommunications and data processing marketplace. The PKL 4118A PIT delivers 100A at 1.8V in a high-density 62W-per-cubic-inch, high-efficiency enhanced half-brick format. The new module offers 83 percent efficiency at full load and is designed to handle input voltages from 36V to 75V in accordance with ETSI specifications.

The new devices feature fast dynamic response times, typically at 100µs ±100mVpeak, and low output ripple, typically at 80mVp-p. Designers will save valuable board space through removing the need to use full-brick, brick or multiple half-brick modules in their designs for new communications and data processing applications.
