EnerSys Expands Front Terminal Battery Offering with Addition of 12V DataSafe 12HX680F-FR

May 31, 2012 by Jeff Shepard

EnerSys has improved safety and ease of maintenance in meeting the power demands for uninterruptable power supply (UPS) applications with the introduction of the DataSafe® 12HX680F-FR front terminal battery. A valve-regulated, lead-acid (VRLA) battery, the DataSafe 12HX680F-FR is a 12V, 680-WPC model complements the existing 16-volt models available at 550, 800 and 925 WPC, which enables coverage of a wide range of KVAs and run times in a selection of front-terminal batteries for UPS applications.

"A front-terminal design on a VRLA battery provides optimal safety and easy maintenance for UPS applications," said Dave McMullen, director of commercial marketing for specialty and UPS markets, EnerSys. "The DataSafe 12HX680F-FR battery is built on proven electrochemistry design and practice. The front terminal design gives the battery a smaller footprint that requires less space, while offering greater flexibility and easy installation."

Easy installation and maintenance also results in reduction of costs: the front terminal design of the DataSafe 12HX680F-FR eliminates the need for costly sliding trays for terminal access. The battery is also adaptable to existing cabinet designs where practical and is conducive to the incorporation of monitoring systems.

The DataSafe 12HX680F-FR front terminal battery meets the Battery Council International (BCI) 4D group size.
