Emerson Network Power Launches AC-DC Power Adapters With Mini-USB Output Connectors

December 19, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Emerson Network Power has launched a new series of wall-mount ac-dc power adapters that use mini-USB connectors for their dc power output. The new DCH3 series ac-dc power adapters have a universal 100 to 254Vac input and generate a regulated 5 V output, with a power capability of 3W. The power adapters are intended for charging portable consumer electronic devices, such as PDAs, digital cameras and mobile phones, that require a 5Vdc supply and use mini-USB connectors for their power input.

The DCH3 series of ac-dc power adapters offers a choice of three models with different input plugs, to suit the region of the world in which they are intended to be used. All three power adapters meet the Energy Star Level IV efficiency standard, have a very low safety ground leakage current of 10µA maximum, and provide a constant voltage, constant current output.

The power adapters feature comprehensive protection against overvoltage and short-circuit conditions, built-in EMI filtering and extensive safety approvals, including UL/cUL60950-1 and EN60950-1 VDE. They accommodate an ambient operating temperature range of 0 to +45°C.

DCH3 series ac-dc power adapters are available for immediate delivery. Standard lead-time is stock to 8 weeks. Pricing starts at US $3.99 in OEM quantities.
