Emerson Intros Astec's DA16 Series Switcher Adapter

Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (St. Louis, MO), announced the introduction of its Astec Power DA16 Series of wall-mount, external switching power supplies. The new models can deliver 12 Vdc at 16 W total power with 20 ms of hold-up time. Featuring universal ac input from 90 Vac to 264 Vac at 47 Hz to 63 Hz, the devices offer output voltage regulated to ±2 percent of nominal with 75 percent efficiency at 120 Vac. The adapter is suitable for a wide variety of applications that use wall-mounted power supplies, including telecommunications, networking, test and measurement, imaging, and non-patient contact medical devices.

The DA16 models feature protection from overload, over-voltage and thermal events, as well as built-in CISPR 22, Class B, EMI filtering. The output connector is a standard 2.5 mm ID barrel jack with a 2 m cable. Designed for EN61000-4-X susceptibility compliance, the units demonstrate a mean time between failures of over 550,000 h at full load in 25 °C ambient conditions. They also comply with worldwide safety and performance standards from UL, CUL, TUV, NEMKO, CB and CE, as well as with Germany’s Blue Angel environmental and energy standards.
