Eltek Valere Launches Flatpack S 24V High Power Density DC Power Systems for Industrial Applications
Eltek Valere announced its new Flatpack S 24Vdc power systems that provide industry-leading power density, efficiency, reliability and safety for industrial applications. The Flatpack S family includes two 24V rectifier modules, a new controller and a 3U-high enclosure. The system offers a maximum 6kW of output power.
The Flatpack S can be configured for a variety of output voltage levels to meet the requirements of industrial applications such as process automation, gas monitoring, fire alarm systems, emergency shutdown systems, marine uninterruptable power systems and industrial bulk feed. The system also features ac filters for use in applications near EMC sensitive equipment like the bridge of a ship.
Flatpack S rectifiers deliver very high power density (26W/in³) for maximum power output in small spaces. This makes them perfect for small to medium industrial power applications ranging from 1kW to 10kW.
"The Flatpack S features the power density to meet the needs of industrial applications where space is tight, but the load is increasing," said Lars Dousa, Vice President of Industrial Power at Eltek Valere. "This new system is built upon our successful HE technology and delivers the excellent reliability and flexible configuration options needed in these challenging environments."
The Flatpack S system has a wide operating temperature range and incorporates safety functions including flexible alarm and monitoring options combined with bulk output. All rectifiers have intelligent self-protective features like reduced output power at high temperatures or low mains.
Both the Flatpack S 24/1000 SIL3 OVP rectifier and the Flatpack S 24/1000 HE rectifier are 1,000W rectifiers with a mean time between failure (MTBF) of 300,000 hours. The rectifiers have low heat dissipation and measure only 72 x 41,5 x 210 mm (whd). In addition, the Flatpack S 24/1000 SIL3 OVP rectifier provides a safety integrity level 3 (SIL3)-rated output overvoltage protection exceeding 30V, making it a suitable building block for IEC61508 functional safety systems.
The new Smartpack S controller monitors all active components and batteries, and offers extra warning and alarm relay outputs for attaching other alarm sensors. The controller has a large display for onsite setup, status and logs access. These functions can also be set or monitored remotely.
