Diodes, Inc. Launches New Low-Voltage Op-Amps and Comparators

June 10, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Diodes Inc. announced the launch of dual and quad low-voltage operational amplifiers (Op-Amps) APX358/324 and Comparators APX393/339. Providing critical circuit functions in virtually all electronic circuit designs, the low-voltage op-amps and comparators specifically target the rapidly expanding low-voltage product segment including popular hand-held and portable consumer electronic products, notebook and desktop computers, servers, and flat-panel displays.

Diodes’ new low-voltage op-amps have been specifically designed to include a low input voltage range (2.5 to 5.5V) and a wide rail-to-rail input and output swing that results in extended operation in battery powered and portable electronic devices. Designed for reduced overall circuit cost and lower power consumption, the APX358 offered in the MSOP-8L package is said to require 50% less board space than the common SOP-8L package, while delivering superior performance to comparable industry devices. The low-voltage op-amps are also available in the SOP-8L package and in a quad array in the popular 14-pin TSSOP-14L package.

"The addition of the low-voltage op-amp and comparator devices represent an important technology expansion of our analog IC product line and addresses the technical needs of our customers in the consumer electronic product segment," stated Mark King, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Diodes Incorporated. "This product line expansion results in a more comprehensive product offering now addressing both standard and low-voltage product areas."

Diodes’ introduction of dual and quad low-voltage (2.5 to 5.5V) comparators, APX393 and APX339 offer a lower operating input voltage range and wider common-mode input voltage than other common industry devices. The APX393 dual comparator is offered in the SOP-8L and board space saving 8-pin MSOP-8L packages. The quad version, APX339, is available in a TSSOP-14L package.
