Diing Tai Electronics Co. Ltd. (Taiwan) released its DSD Series of NTC thermistors, which are designed for surge protection, temperature compensation and temperature sensing. The thermistors come in diameter sizes of 1 mm, 2 mm or 5 mm, and have a thermal time constant of 8 seconds to 35 seconds. The devices have resistances of 5 kΩ, 10 kΩ or 100 kΩ (1 mm); 15 Ω to 200 kΩ (2 mm); or 45 Ω to 1 MΩ (5 mm).
The devices have a B constant of 3,450, 3,970, 4,050 or 4,100; a thermal dissipation constant of 7 mW/°C to 12 mW/°C; and an operating temperature range of -30 °C to +100 °C. The devices meet UL and CSA approvals.
