Delta Electronics Introduces New POL Converter
Delta Electronics, Inc. has introduced the ND 12V input, 50A Point-of-Load (POL), non-isolated converter into their Delphi Series of Board Mounted dc-dc power converters. This product offers a 50A Point- of-Load solution for data communication, networking, and server applications.
The ND product is Delta’s second generation of non-isolated Point-of-Load dc-dc power modules for the data communication, networking and IT applications. This unit was specially designed to address size and board space constraints which customers may have in their applications, with a reduction in module size of 35% to 50%, as compared to Delta’s first generation NC series POL modules. The ND 50A unit operates from a 10.2~13.8V input range and provides 50A of single channel output current in a vertically mounted, through-hole package. The ND 50A POL product features a programmable output voltage via external resistors and is adjustable from 0.9 to 3.63V output through this external resistor.
With what is described as a creative design topology and optimized component placement, the ND 50A POL converter is said to deliver outstanding electrical and thermal performance, as well as extremely high reliability under highly stressful operating conditions. All ND 50A POL modules are also said to offer excellent thermal performance. The ND Point-of-Load is able to provide full output current at up to 60°C ambient temperature (3.3V output), with less than 200 LFM airflow, while keeping component junction temperatures under most derating guidelines.
Sample quantities of Delta’s Delphi ND 50A converters are available for immediate delivery. In OEM quantities of 1000 pieces, the ND unit price is US$15. Standard lead-time for this product is from stock to 8 weeks, depending on the output and volume.
