Delta Electronics Debuts NC Family POL Converters

New Products Jul 26, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Delta Electronics Inc. (Chungli, Taiwan), a leader in power systems technology and manufacturing, introduced its NC family of point-of-load (POL), non-isolated converters into its Delphi Series of board-mounted, dc-dc power converters. The NC family offers a cost-effective POL solution with optimized component placement and creative design topologies.

The NC converter operates from a nominal 12 V input and provides up to 40 A of single-channel output current in a vertically or horizontally mounted, through-hole package. The NC POL product features a programmable output voltage, which ranges from 0.9 V to 5 V via external resistors and is available in output currents of 6 A, 15 A, 20 A, 30 A and 40 A. Current sharing is an optional feature for the 30 A and 40 A modules, which allows multiple 30 A/40 A modules to be "strung" together to provide higher output currents.

In OEM quantities of 1,000 pieces, unit pricing for the 15 A module is $8.80. Standard lead-time is from stock to eight weeks, depending on the output and volume.
