DATEL Intros New UNR Series DC/DC Converters

New Products Jan 28, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

DATEL Inc. (Mansfield, MA) announced its new 30W to 66W, open-frame UNR Series of non-isolated dc/dc converters that deliver up to 20A of 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V or 3.3V current from a 5V input (4.75V to 5.5V range). The UNR converters combine a modern, high-efficiency (to 91 percent), fully synchronous buck topology with an integrated metal technology package, which features an overall height of less than 1/2in and combines SMT components, contemporary thermal-clad pcb materials, and anodized-aluminum heatsink.

The UNR converters are fully line (±0.1 percent, maximum) and load (±0.5 percent, maximum) regulated and deliver low noise (typically 75mVp-p), quick step response (50µsec) and no-load stability. The feature set includes Vout trim capability, an on/off control function, output remote-sense pins, and output over-current detection and short-circuit protection. The UNR converters are UL1950/EN60950 certified. Safety reports, EMC compliance reports and qualification test reports are available upon request.

The UNR dc/dc converters are priced at $53 each in single quantities and $35 each for 1,000 pieces. Production quantities are from six to eight weeks.
