Datel Intros LSN D5 Series DC/DC Converters

Datel Inc. (Mansfield, MA) announced its new LSN D5 Series of non-isolated dc/dc converters, which accept 5V inputs while delivering 1V, 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2V, 2.5V and 3V (10A) outputs at efficiencies between 89 percent to 96 percent. Available in SIPs measuring 51mm x 13mm x 8.6mm, the devices can be configured in either vertical or horizontal orientations and require no external I/O filtering to achieve specified noise levels or FCC-compliant radiated/conducted emissions.

The converters are also designed with on-board I/O capacitors that are rated to handle the required input-ripple current and are capable of reducing output noise to specified levels. Furthermore, the series eliminates the need for transformers, optocouplers and field effect transistor drive circuits. The LSN D5 devices operate at a frequency of 300kHz and exhibit a line/load regulation of ±0.1 percent. The devices have an output noise of 10mVpp and are capable of delivering full power to at least 65°C without air flow. Other features include output over-current detection, continuous short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown (115°C), ±10 percent output-voltage trim, remote on/of control and output sense pins.
