CUI AC-DC Modules Deliver up to 2W from 0.8 in3 Space-saving Package

July 12, 2012 by Jeff Shepard

CUI Inc. announced 12 new ac-dc encapsulated power modules for space-constrained applications. The 1W VSK-S1 series and 2W VSK-S2 series feature ultra-compact 0.8 in3 packages measuring 1.32 x 0.87 x 0.70" (33.7 x 22.2 x 18mm). With a no-load power consumption of 100mW, the modules are well suited for primary or auxiliary power conversion in a variety of ITE, consumer electronics, and industrial control applications.

An input range of 85~305Vac makes these ac-dc modules suitable for lighting and smart building systems that operate from 277Vac. Up to 78% efficient, with an operating temperature range of -25 to 70°C, the power supplies feature very low ripple and noise.

The 1 and 2W families have output voltages of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15 and 24Vdc. Protections for over voltage, short circuit and over temperature are included. Additionally, all models are 3kVac isolated, carry CE and UL/cUL 60950-1 safety certifications, and are compliant with the EN 55022 Class B EMI standard. The VSK series is available immediately through Digi-Key with prices starting at $7.88 per unit for 1,000 pieces.
