Compaq Introduces the T700 UPS

Compaq Computer Corp. (Houston, TX) announced a new tower UPS, the UPS T700. The T700 is designed to provide advanced power protection for a network including workstations, hubs, routers and servers that require maximum uptime and fault tolerance in the event of a power problem. Rated at 700VA, 500A, the system features a front panel display. It is suitable for use in desktop, workstation, or entry-level server environments.

Key features of the new T700 include increased power rating, enhanced front panel display, enhanced battery management and a hot-swappable battery. The UPS also features a communications port for data exchange with the host computer, a three-year warranty and a $25,000 load protection guarantee. It comes bundled with Compaq's power management software and has an operating temperature of 10 to 40 degrees C.
