Compact DC-DC Converters for Intelligent Instrumentation

Mornsun has introduced the HK series dc-dc converters specially designed for application with two-wire signal transmitters. They are suitable for two-wire loop application which can solve problems of signal transmission errors caused by devices' operating current superimposed on signal circuit. This series take power from the loop circuit, connecting device operating current and signal control circuit in series which greatly ensure the accuracy of signal transmission. At the same time, they significantly improve the power current of the two-wire system by adjusting current ratio.

These specialized dc-dc converters feature output current up to 3.5mA and an isolation voltage of 1.5kVdc. HK _S series is designed specifically for applications of two-wire signal and HART transmission. It can solve a series of problems, such as, the signal transmission errors around 3.5- to 20-mA, followed by the interruption of HART communication or damage to equipment port device, which are caused by the ground potential difference with different ground loops. HK _S series supply power through the loop, so that it can eliminate transmission errors caused by electric potential difference and ensure the accuracy of the communication transmission.

The series come in compact SIP package (11.60×6.00×10.16mm), which effectively save the space. They offer industrial operating temperature of -40 to +85 degrees and continuous short-circuit protection ensuring the safety of instrumentation.
