Celestica Intros S-Class DC/DC Converter Footprint

Celestica Inc. (Toronto, Ontario) announced its plans to release the S-Class, a new high-density footprint in the isolated, dc/dc board-mount-power marketplace. Approximately half the length of the existing eighth-brick form factor, and claimed to be smaller than any other product currently released as a sixteenth-brick, the new S-Class dc/dc converter is 1.11in x 0.90in x 0.354in.

Expected to deliver up to 141W/in³ as well as 25A at 1.5V, the new package size has been designed for industry standardization. The S-Class will be available in both PTH and SMT packages as well as a heatsink-attachable model to meet system thermal needs. Prototypes of Celestica's S-Class Series in 2.5V at 20A will be available mid-January 2004.
