Bear Power’s Mini DC-DC Converter Now Has Output to 300V

July 11, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

BEAR Power Supplies announced higher voltage options for its 1.5W BPS series configurable dc-dc converters. These single-input, single-output isolated converters are now available with input voltage from 3 to 15Vdc and output voltage from 50 to 300Vdc. (The previous maximum input and output were 12 and 220Vdc respectively.)

The company claims that the BPS series converters feature up to five times better efficiency and ten times better load regulation than similar products on the market. They operate from -55 to +85°C with no heat sink or electrical derating required. They are suitable for powering PIN diodes, avalanche photodiodes and piezoelectric actuators in applications such as RF transceivers, programmable filters, and industrial and scientific instruments.

The encapsulated package is only 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.4 inches (12.7 x 12.7 x 10.2 mm), and weighs just 4 grams. Both through-hole and SMT versions are available.
