AVX Develops TCJ Series Polymer Tantalum Capacitors
AVX Corp. (Myrtle Beach, SC), a manufacturer and supplier of passive electronic components and related products, has developed a new series of low-ESR, conductive polymer, tantalum capacitors specifically designed to withstand the higher temperatures required for lead-free soldering processes.
Designated the TCJ Series, the capacitors are constructed using a conductive polymer cathode technology that enables users to take advantage of the volumetric efficiency of tantalum, along with reduced ESR, yet are robust enough for repeated 260 °C solder processes. The TCJ Series capacitors are available from 4.7 µF to 150 µF; in voltage ratings of 4 V, 6.3 V and 10 V; and in A and B case sizes. The operating temperature range is from –55 °C to +125 °C.
Pricing for the TCJ Series capacitors ranges from $0.25 to $0.35 in quantities of 10,000 units, with lead times from 8 to 10 weeks and samples available immediately.
