Astrodyne Introduces New Compact 150W Open-Frame Switching Supplies

August 12, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Astrodyne Corp. announced the release of its ASL150 series of high density, open frame switching power supplies. Designed to deliver 150W of output power, these compact units exhibit power densities greater than 17W/in³, which the company claims is more than double the industry standard. A low, 1.08" profile makes these units particularly appropriate for 1U applications.

All ASL150 Series models accept universal input from 90-264Vac. Four models are available that provide single outputs of 5 to 48Vdc. The ASL150 modules occupy a small mechanical footprint measuring only 2" x 4" x 1.08", and the ASL150 series features efficiencies up to 90% with what the company claims is 30% less power dissipation than competing products. All models contain overvoltage, overcurrent and short circuit protection circuitry. All models feature Molex-style I/O connectors. The ASL150 series is fully approved to CSA/NTRL, NEMKO safety specifications. Medically approved non-commercial versions are also available.

Prices start at $70USD in OEM quantities with deliveries stock to 8 weeks ARO.
