Astec Power Intros NTQ123-DC Power Supply Line

July 02, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Astec Power (Carlsbad, CA) introduced its -48Vdc input, low-profile, switching power supply, the NTQ123-DC, which is designed to operate directly from a -48Vdc telecomm power bus. The new unit accepts a wide input-voltage range of -36V to -72V and can deliver 120W of output power, with 30CFM of forced air flowing across its open U-channel chassis. It is suitable for network, telecom and data storage equipment designers, who must have reliable and cost-effective power solutions.

The NTQ123-DC features output voltages of +5V, +3.3V, +12V and -12V; a low profile of 1.5in; a 4in x 7in compact footprint; over-voltage protection on the two main outputs; current overload protection on all

outputs; thermal overload protection for the entire unit; a mean time between failure of more than one million hours; 20 milliseconds of holdup time; 120W of output power; and remote voltage-sensing capability. With the ability to source up to 24A from the +5V output, up to 25A from the +3.3V output, and peaks of up to 28A from either one, the NTQ123-DC is flexible enough to support a wide

variety of mixed-mode, high-speed, digital circuitry.

The NTQ123-DC complies with worldwide safety and performance standards and has UL, CSA, CE, CB, VDE and NEMKO approvals. Designed to meet FCC Class B, CISPR22 Level B, EN55022 Class B and VDE 0878 PT3 Class B emissions, the NTQ123-DC also meets all other industry-standard noise and immunity requirements.

Available now, OEM pricing for the NTQ123-DC starts at $115 each.
