Astec Power Intros New ALH25 DC/DC Converter

New Products Sep 15, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Astec Power (Carlsbad, CA) introduced its new dual-output, half-brick, dc/dc converter, the ALH25AF48, which is suitable for data and telecommunications applications, including wireless transmitters, receivers and base stations.

The ALH25AF48 features up to 100W of output power at a typical efficiency of 88 percent; delivery of up to 20A from a 5V output and 25A from a 3.3V output; a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +120 degrees C; a wide input-voltage range of 36V to 75V; a +0.02 percent per degree C temperature coefficient; a 2.3in x 2.4in package size; an adjustable ±10 percent output voltage; positive or negative logic ENABLE input-control pins; under-voltage lockout with hysteresis; and over-temperature, over-current and over-voltage protection.

Designed to deliver a payload of more than 12A from a 3.3V output and 8A from a 5V output with 200 LFM of airflow across the unit, even at an ambient air temperature of 70 degrees C, the ALH25 is rated for input-voltage surges of up to 100V for 100 milliseconds, and up to 1,500Vdc across its primary-to-secondary isolation barrier. The ALH25 features ESR loads of up to 8.2 thousand micro-Farads, and down to three milliohms per output.

Priced from $102 each in quantities of 100, samples are available now.
