American Power Conversion (APC, West Kingston, RI) announced it is expanding its mobile product line to include dc/ac power inverters designed for professional or recreational consumers. The new Mobile Power inverters, available in 140W and 350W models, are designed to provide power to a wide variety of 120Vac equipment.
The 140W unit features a single power outlet, while the 350W version has dual outlets and two changeable power cords that enable the user to plug into the vehicle's lighter socket or connect directly to the battery. Both units are equipped with safety features such as an audible low-voltage alarm and low-voltage automatic shutdown to ensure that there will be enough power to start your vehicle.
The new 140W and 350W Mobile Power devices will have an estimated resale price of $49.99 and $79.99, respectively. Both units are currently available in North America.
