Amplicon Liveline Adds the King UPS Series

February 26, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Amplicon Liveline (UK) has added the King UPS Series to its catalogue line. Amplicon reports that the new series is a high-specification range of uninterruptible power supplies. A major feature of the series is the regulated output voltage, which is provided within ±25 percent of the input voltage. If, for any reason, this is exceeded, then the battery supplies the output voltage. A battery capacity of up to 7Ah is available, and is able to filter any spikes from the supply, if necessary. Batteries provided are both hot-swappable

and user-replaceable.

The King UPS Series permits parallel operation for larger loads. The series is provided with both automatic and manual control facilities, and has an internal clock for scheduled power up and power down. With a surge and noise filter, the power supplies are suitable for PC and industrial applications. The UPSs feature a 9-pin DB connector RS232 communications interface and either PC or server based UPS monitoring software capable of handling power disturbances. An on-screen power fail message with the option for the user to program file saving and sequencing and automatic boot up when power returns is a fundamental part of the series.

Operation of King UPSs is microprocessor controlled, with a no-load switch-off option. Blackout, brownout, surge over-voltage and shutdown data logging are also provided for. Designed in linear technology, the UPS is provided in a DIN mountable IP20 case,

with up to 30 minutes hold-up time.

All models come with UPSMON monitoring software included as part of the package, and are compatible with MS DOS, Windows 3.11, Windows 95 and NT. Every UPS is CE compliant and registered to ISO9001 requirements. Prices range from around $115 to $515.
