Alps Electric Debuts SKRT Series Tactile Switches

Alps Electric Co. Ltd. (Japan) announced the new SKRT Series of side-push type tactile switches, which measure 4.46mm x 3.55mm x 3.3mm and are designed for use in portable devices such as cellular phones and PDAs. The devices are rated at 12Vdc, 50mA, and require an operating force of 1.6N. The switches operate at a horizontal direction, parallel to the PCB and travel up to 0.2mm. They have an initial contact resistance of 500 milliohms and have an operating lifespan of 100,000 cycles.
