Aimtron Technology Offers AT1383 DC/DC Controller

February 24, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Aimtron Technology Corp. (Taiwan) announced its new AT1383 six-channel dc/dc controller IC, which is designed for up-/down-conversion using a step-up and step-down Zeta converter system with free input and output setting. It is suitable for low-voltage applications incorporating soft-start and short-circuit detection functions such as camcorders, CCD imaging devices and digital cameras.

The 48-pin LQFP device uses PWM and synchronous rectification to support up-and-down conversion on channels 1, 2 and 5. It also supports up, down and flyback SEPIC conversion on channels 3, 4 and 6. The AT1383 operates at 1.2MHz (maximum) and needs a startup voltage of 1.7V.
