Aimtec Adds Compact 2 & 3W DC- DC Converters With 4:1 Input

Aimtec has expanded its SIP8 and SIP9 product offering with the addition of the AM2GW-Z and AM3GW-Z series of single and dual output step down, dc-dc converters.

Aimtec’s AMxGx-xZ product line provides a space efficient alternative to larger DIP24 (32 x 20 x 10.2mm) packages, without compromise to power, efficiency or features. Scalability from 1 to 3W, encompassing 374 models within a compact SIP8 (21.85 x 9.2 x 11.5mm) or SIP9 (25.91 x 9.14 x 12.45mm ) package, the AMxGx-xZ family of dc-dc converters can meet virtually any input/output configuration requirements.

As the newest additions to this product line, the AM2GW-Z and AM3GW-Z series offer ultra wide input ranges of 9-36V and 18-75V with I/O isolation of 1500Vdc within an industrial operating temperature range -40 + 75°C.

With output currents of up to 500mA delivered to a regulated output voltage range of 3.3, 5, 12 and 15V, at high efficiency rates of up to 85%, the AM2GW-Z and AM3GW-Z series feature many functional advantages, including continuous short circuit protection and remote on/off control. The remote ON/OFF function in Aimtec’s AM2GW-Z and AM3GW-Z series is designed to allow the output voltage to shut-off without shutting down the input voltage, which can be a critical issue for portable power applications where conservation of the device’s power consumption is required and/or there is a need for the power supplies to switch ON and OFF in a specific sequence.
