Advanced Power Conversion Intros R Series DC Converter

October 20, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Advanced Power Conversion plc (APC, Farnborough, England) introduced its R Series dc-dc converter, which offers up to four isolated outputs with five voltage input ranges to provide a versatile and flexible package. The R Series provides a speedy and cost-effective solution for distributed power systems, telecom, aerospace, defense, industrial and control applications.

Output voltages from 3.3 V to 24 V are available from the single, dual, triple and quad variants, which provide a suitable solution for multi-voltage requirements where space and flexibility are at a premium. Design-in flexibility is further enhanced with a choice of five input-voltage ranges. A nominal 12 V (9 Vdc to 18 Vdc), 24 V (18 Vdc to 36 Vdc) and 48 V (36 Vdc to 75 Vdc), plus two additional wide input-voltage ranges of 10 Vdc to 30 Vdc and 20 Vdc to 60 Vdc.

Measuring 98.9 mm x 140 mm x 22.8 mm, the thermally adept, metal-cased module has an operating temperature range of –25 °C to +85 °C with free air-convection cooling.
