Advance-Galatrek Intros MasterElite ERT UPS

July 07, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Advance-Galatrek (UK) announced a new three-phase-in, three-phase-out, uninterruptible power system (UPS) for enterprise-wide data and voice processing networks. The high-specification MasterElite® ERT 160kVA model can deliver sine-wave power protection up to 160kVA, making it suitable for emergency, industrial, communications and data applications that host centralized computer or telecom facilities.

Up to six MasterElite 160kVA units can be installed in parallel (960kVA), or as a redundant N+1 configuration. The UPS features a three-phase output from a three-phase 400Vac input, auto-sensing of the input frequency, an input-voltage range of ±20 percent, dynamic input and output filters to protect the load from upstream electrical pollution, protection from spikes and electrical noise while the unit is in static-bypass mode, operating efficiencies of up to 98 percent, and an optional CleanSource dc flywheel that acts as a mechanical battery that can be used instead of a traditional SLA or NiCd battery set.

The MasterElite ERT 160kVA also features advanced double-conversion, on-line technology with a transformer isolated inverter output, which offers protection when

confronted by surges, sags and brownouts in

the mains supply; built-in automatic static and manual maintenance bypasses, with automatic or manual battery-testing facilities; and the addition of extended battery packs or ac diesel and LPG generators.
