ACS Announces RoHS Compliant Version Of SPiiPlus 3U Motion Controller

November 09, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

ACS Motion Control has developed a RoHS compliant version of its SPiiPlus 3U motion controller. Designated the SPiiPlus 3U-HP series, the high performance motion controller is available in four, six or eight axes versions and features customized algorithms that offer precise motion control to meet a wide range of application parameters such as gantry control, tight velocity control and fast move and settle times. Built for OEM rack-based systems, the SPiiPlus 3U can be integrated into ACS Motion Control’s MC4U rack mount control module to provide motion control for up to eight motors.

The motion controller features advanced algorithms and input shaping tools that reduce jitter and settling times, increasing the efficiency and throughput of the system. According to the company, these tools are easy to set-up and use, reducing the application development time and increasing the machine’s time-to-production.

"Our enhanced SPiiPlus 3U-HP motion controller provides a new level of precision for sophisticated motion control applications," said Evan Reed, ACS Motion Control Vice President. "The advanced algorithms and full software Simulator are just some of the tools ACS provides its customers to enhance motion profiles and time to market."

The new SPiiPlus 3U-HP motion control module provides Hall sensors support and features squared Sin-Cos encoder output signal. It also has two Ethernet ports and MARK inputs. The cost-effective motion controller features distributed axis and I/O control using HSSI or optional CANOpen channels.
