Absopulse Presents CTP1500-R Series DC-AC Inverter

January 16, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Absopulse Electronics Ltd. (Carp, Ontario, Canada) announced its new CTP1500-R Series dc-ac inverter, which delivers 1,500 VA of three-phase, sinusoidal voltage at 50 Hz, 60 Hz or 400 Hz. It is ruggedized and conformal coated to ensure immunity to shock, vibration and humidity, and is suitable for industrial, utility, telecom and marine environments, as well as for aviation ground support equipment, fuel cell, solar cell and wind power conversion systems.

The inverter incorporates microprocessor-controlled, high-frequency PWM technology to synthesize sinusoidal outputs of 208 Vrms, 380 Vrms or 415 Vrms (phase-to-phase) from 24 Vdc, 28 Vdc, 48 Vdc, 125 Vdc or 250 Vdc inputs. Total harmonic distortion at full load is less than 5%. The floating outputs are isolated from each other and can be connected in a "Y" configuration or left as three individual outputs. In the "Y" configuration, the center point (neutral) can be grounded.

The CTP1500-R is fan-cooled and rated for operation over 0 °C to 50 °C, with an optional -40 °C to +65 °C temperature range (with de-rating above 50 °C), available. A remote shut-down option is also available. The inverter is housed in a 3U x 19 in x 15 in enclosed chassis.

The CTP1500-R is priced at $2,347 at quantities.
