Absopulse Intros LPS150 Power Supply System

July 04, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Absopulse Electronics Ltd. (Carp, ON) released the LPS150, a modular power supply system designed for laboratory and industrial applications. The system is comprised of plug-in modules that can be configured in any combination to construct a multiple-output laboratory power supply system requiring only one line cord and allowing for quick reconfiguration for new applications.

Each plug-in module provides 150W of regulated output power and functions as a completely independent power supply. Depending on the application requirements, 0Vdc to 30Vdc/5A and 0Vdc to 60Vdc/2.5A modules can be used alone or in combination. The output of each module is fully isolated, allowing for the connection of several modules in series to achieve high output power. Custom output ranges are also available.

The LPS150 plug-in module is rugged and features high efficiency, low output noise and full protection. The system is designed to meet international safety approvals, including IEC950, CSA22-2-950 and UL1950. It also meets the requirements for EN55022 Class B EMI emissions as a minimum.

The single-LPS150 version, enclosed in a 3U x 7.4in x 13in case, is priced at $503 in low quantities; the double-module version, also in a 3U x 7.4in x 13in case, is priced at $783; the triple-module version in a 3U x 19in x 13in shelf is priced at $1,095; and the four-module version, also housed in a 3U x 19in x 13in shelf, is priced at $1,374.
