Absopulse Expands DCW Series of DC Converters

September 19, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Absopulse Electronics Ltd. (Carp, Ontario, Canada) expanded its DCW Series of dc-dc converters, adding two wide-input-voltage ranges and increasing output power up to 200 W. The converters are available with either a 20 Vdc to 60 Vdc input range, or with a 65 Vdc to 160 Vdc input range. They deliver 100 W, 150 W, or 200 W, with standard output voltages of 12 V, 24 V, 48 V, or 125 Vdc. Other output voltages are also possible.

Designed for operation in rugged industrial environments, additional conformal coating or full encapsulation options ensure immunity to the high levels of shock, vibration, humidity, moisture, and airborne contaminants typically encountered in railway and other extreme environments. The convection/conduction cooled converters are housed in chassis-mount, vented enclosures, and are rated for operation from 0 ºC to +50 ºC without derating. Extended temperature ranges of -30 ºC to +80 ºC (cold plate) are available. The 150 W and 200 W models are also offered in plug-in format, which may be mounted on a 3U x 19 in front-panel for rack-mount applications.

The DCW Series converters feature full electronic protection and most models have input/output filtering to meet EN55022 Class B EMI. The units are designed to meet international safety approvals, including IEC950 and CSA22.2.950. The DCW100 is priced at $98; the DCW150 at $123 and the DCW200 at $169 for 100-piece quantities.
