New Products Jun 19, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

ABC Taiwan Electronics Corp. (Taiwan) has developed the SH4028 Series of 1.2µH to 560µH wound chip inductors, which the company claims to have high solderability and high heat resistance. Packaged in an embossed carrier tape, the magnetic shielded, surface-mount inductor has a high current rating, and is suitable for use in notebooks, hard disks, PDAs and other electronic equipment.

The ISO-9002 certified product has a ferrite DR/RI core; an epoxy resin adhesive; and Ag, Ni, and Sn/Pb terminals. The operating temperature is -25°C to +105°C, and resistance to solder heat is 260°C for 10sec. The maximum insulation resistance is 20 ohms and the maximum attainable current is 3,100mA. The inductors are available in 1,000 pieces per reel with a product lead time of 45 days.
