6W 4:1 Input Isolated DC-DC Converters

Mornsun has added the URB1D-YMD-6WR3 series of cost-effective 6-Watt railway power converters (EN50155/EN60950 approval) which feature ultra-wide voltage range of 40- to 160-Vdc and high isolation of 2250Vdc. Optional input voltage ranges of 9- to 36-Vdc and 18- to 75-Vdc are also available (with 1500Vdc isolation). This series also provide input under-voltage, output short-circuit, over-current and over-voltage protections, available heat sink design, and optional packages (chassis mounting and DIN-Rail mounting available). No-load power consumption is as low as 0.12W.

They are offered in single- and dual-output models. Expected applications include railway monitoring equipment (such as axle temperature monitoring and alarm systems), air conditioner controller and information displays applications, and across a broad range of applications including medical care, industrial control, electric power, instruments, communication equipment, and so on.

These dc-dc converters have an operating temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C, they deliver full power to 71 degrees C and derate linearly to 60% of rated output at 85 degrees C. They are offered in single output voltages of 3.3-, 5-, 9-, 12-, 15- and 24-Vdc and dual output voltages of ±5-, ±12-, ±15-, ±24-Vdc.

The URB1D-YMD-6WR3 series features input reverse voltage protection (series with A2S chassis mounting & 35mm Din-rail A4S package and have EN50155/EN60950 approval. This series of products using reduced frequency technology: the switching frequency is 300kHz at full load, when the load is reduced to below 50%, the switching frequency decreases with decreasing load. These dc-dc converters have an MTBF of one million hours per MIL-HDBK-217F at 25 degrees C.
