480W IP65/IP68 Industrial AC-DC Power

Mean Well has unveiled the new 480W HEP-480 series of industrial ac-dc power supplies. The HEP-480 series is specially designed for applications that require low noise and have to operate in highly humid, highly dusty, highly oily, highly salty, ultra low or high temperature, heavily vibrating, high altitude and poor ventilation environments.

This series follows the features of HEP family, adopting aluminum case and the interior are fully-potted with the heat-conducted silicone, equipping IP65 high protection level against the ingress of dust and water (IP68 level optional units are also available), up to 10G anti-vibration capability, meeting 6kV surge immunity level and they are able to work under the ambient temperature ranging between -55 and +70 degrees C by free air convection.

These power supplies are designed for use in harsh environment applications all over the world, such as outdoor telecommunication equipment, outdoor electronic signage and billboards, and petroleum plants or mine shaft facilities.

Features and specifications include: 90- to 305-Vac universal input with active power factor correction; Class I power unit (with FG); Fanless design, cooling by free air convection; IP65 high protection level, IP68 optional model available; Operating altitude up to 5000 meters; Protections functions include short circuit, overload, overvoltage and over temperature; these power supplies have UL/CUL/CB/CE approvals and they measure (L x W x H) 262 x 125 x 43.8 mm.
