Phihong has introduced a new 15W USB power adapter that provides convenient and efficient charging solutions for a wide variety of mobile electronic devices and peripherals, including: smartphones, tablets, notebook computers, monitors, and networking devices. The new AQ15 Series 15W USB wall-plug adapters feature USB Type-C dc output connectors, are backwards compatible with devices that utilize previous USB standards, and allow users to plug the cable receptacle in whichever way they would like, eliminating frustrating connection attempts.

“Phihong’s new AQ15 Series 15W USB wall-plug power adapters provide high-efficiency charging solutions that — thanks to their USB Type-C connector— are compatible with most portable devices on the market,” said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA. “The series is also available with both North American and European prongs to further enhance device compatibility and convenience.”

Compliant with both US Department of Energy (DOE) Level VI and European Union Code of Conduct (CoC) V5 Tier 2 energy efficiency standards, AQ15 Series USB adapters deliver 15W output power and 5V output voltage, are rated for 3A current and ac inputs spanning 100V to 240V, and feature a low maximum leakage current of 20μA. Available in two different versions to suit both North American and European input voltages and power outlets, the adapters are also certified to IEC/EN/UL 60950, CB, CE, and cULus safety specifications, and have built-in over-voltage and short-circuit protections. Operating temperatures for the series span 0 to +40 degrees C, and allowable humidity spans 0–90%.

AQ15 Series USB power adapters measure 68.1mm x 40mm x 23.3mm (2.68” x 1.57” x 0.92”) and weigh 55g (1.94oz). North American versions of the series are available in both black and white plastic housings; European versions feature black plastic housings. Pricing for single-unit quantities starts at $16.38, and samples of the AQ15 Series are currently available.
