1- and 2-Watt DC-DCs with Low Isolation Capacitance

January 11, 2017 by Jeff Shepard

Aimtec has announced a new 2-Watt series of dc-dc converters, the AM2M-NZ, and also the expansion of their existing 1-Watt series, the AM1M-NZ, with the addition of new models. These new converters feature output voltages with 1500- or 3000-Vdc input to output isolation tested over a 60 second cycle during manufacturing.

Both series are designed particularly with very low Isolation capacitance and supports a wide variety of input voltages from 3.3- to 24Vdc convert to single and dual output voltages of 3.3-, 5-, 9-, 12-, 15- and 24-Vdc. These series are designed to be integrated into a multitude of applications, such as IGBT drivers, RF digital circuits, low frequency analog, relay drive circuits or precision control applications.

The 2-Watt series operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees C with no derating. The 1-Watt models function at an ambient temperature range of -40 to 105 degrees C, with derating starting at 85 degrees C and going down to 80% at 105 degrees C.

The converters are available in a compact sual inline DIP14 package, 20.00 x 10.00 x 7.00 mm for the new 1-Watt models and 20.32 x 10.16 x 8.2 mm for the 2-Watt AM2M-NZ series. Offered with 2 choices of input to output isolation of 1500Vdc or 3000Vdc for easy integration in industrial, telecommunication, automation control and computer applications.
