Battery Life
Given the battery capacity and load current, it is relatively easy to calculate battery life. We simply divide the battery capacity by the current draw of the load:
$$B_l = \frac{B_c}{I_l}$$
where:
- Bl = Battery lifetime in hours
- Bc = Battery capacity in Ah (ampere-hours)
- Il = Load current draw in A (amps)
Ampere-hours (Ah) are a unit of measurement for battery capacity. They indicate how much current a battery can store and deliver over time.
This calculator allows you to easily select different units of measurement for each of the three parameters:
- Bl = Battery lifetime in days, hours, or hours
- Bc = Battery capacity in kAh, Ah, or mAh
- Il = Load current draw in kA, A, or mA
