ZAP Signs Distribution Contract with Veiculos Electricos

ZAP Power Systems (Sebastopol, CA) announced it has signed a distribution contract with Veiculos Electricos (Lisbon, Portugal) and received an initial order of $50,000 in electric bikes and scooters. The Portuguese company plans to open its first "ZAP Outlet" next month to offer sales and rentals of electric bikes in Lisbon with plans to open similar outlets in the north and south of Portugal."My main objective is to reduce pollution and promote electric transportation," stated Veiculos Electricos Director Carlos Alegria. "This would meet the objectives of the Lord Mayor of Lisbon who has proposed that several of Lisbon's city roads be closed to internal combustion vehicles. I have already received orders for electric bikes from my friends and colleagues."
