Würth Elektronik eiSos will be exhibiting at the PCIM Europe 2016 trade fair from 10 thru 12 May 2016 (Hall 7, Stand 219). The core themes of the component manufacturer at this international trade fair for power electronics, intelligent drive technology, renewable energies, and energy management are the new power modules, first and foremost the step-down converters that make up the Magl³C product category. Other new items include the SMD ferrites of the WE-MPSB product series, the WE-MAPI power inductors, and a new set of USB-3.1 connectors.

Würth Elektronik eiSos will present no fewer than five new products in the power module area including the MagI3C-FDSM, a replacement for the commonly used 78xx linear voltage regulators. With input voltages ranging from 7- to 28-V, the non-synchronous step-down regulator module offers fixed output voltages from 3.3V or 5V at 1 A. The advantage: no external components are required for their operation (SIP-3 design). The MagI3C-VDRM (synchronous variable step-down regulator module) with 2.95- to 6-Vin and 0.8- to 3.6-Vout is particularly suited for the power supply of processors and FPGAs that require a scalable output current (2 A/4 A/6 A) and a programmable switching frequency (BQFN-39 design).

Würth Elektronik eiSos will also be presenting its substantially expanded and revised “Power Module” catalogue for 2016. Taken together with the “ABC of Power Modules” manual, it offers engineers in all fields valuable decision-making support when it comes to the selection of the appropriate components.

In the area of the SMT-fittable components, Würth Elektronik eiSos will be presenting two new products: WE-MAPI is the series of the smallest power induc¬tors made of magnetic iron powder. Their design enables a high current-carrying capacity and high saturation currents. In the range of the SMD ferrites, it’s the WE-MPSB series that forms the highlight. Its rated current capacity is 55 per cent higher than that of the comparable modules that have been available so far. At the same time, the ferrites are also capable of withstanding loads up to twenty times their specified rated current capacity over the short term, making them suited for applications in power-supply lines.

The line of EMC products offered by Würth Elektronik eiSos has now been rounded off with a range of certified electrolyte, ceramic, and film capacitors, and the wireless-power transfer area has now also been expanded to include a comprehensive range of coils and arrays. The product groups of inductors, transformers, HF components, varistors, capacitors, LEDs, connectors, power-supply elements, switches, fuse holders, and connector technology also feature many interesting new products.

The USB 3.1 technology stands in the focus in the area of the connectors – not surprising in view that the new USB-3.1 standard with 10 Gb/s instead of 5 Gb/s and a current supply of up to 20 V is currently opening up a broad vista of new applications. Würth Elektronik eiSos offers developers and manufacturers alike the necessary connectors, sockets, and cables. As for all the products on offer, here too the manufacturer draws everyone’s attention to the possibility to request free-of-charge samples and the ready availability of the products directly from stock.
