USFCC and CFCP to Host at SAE 2005 World Congress

April 05, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

The US Fuel Cell Council (USFCC, Washington, DC) has teamed up with the California Fuel Cell Partnership (CFCP) to host the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Pavilion at the 2005 World Congress of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). The 2005 SAE World Congress will be held April 11-15, 2005, at Cobo Hall in Detroit, MI.

The Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Pavilion will showcase fuel cell cars and technologies from several OEM and supplier members, including DaimlerChrysler AG, General Motors Corp., Nissan Motor Corp., Toyota Motor Corp., Ballard Power Systems Inc., Gore Fuel Cell Technologies, Nuvera Fuel Cells Inc., and UTC Fuel Cells, along with brochures and other demonstration pieces from other USFCC members.

"With oil prices spiking again, this focus on fuel cells is not merely timely, but necessary," said USFCC Executive Director Robert Rose. "Fuel cells can both reduce reliance on imported oil and take the automobile out of the environmental debate. Hundreds of buses, cars, off-road vehicles and hydrogen fueling networks are proving the technology's feasibility around the world today, and the industry has launched pre-commercial fleet demonstrations here in the United States."
